Brian F. Williams, O.D.

Dr. Williams, an Oklahoma native, raised in a small farming community in southwest Oklahoma, received his Bachelor’s degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. After graduating from Northeastern Oklahoma State University School of Optometry in 1994, he completed a residency in ocular disease and refractive surgery in an ambulatory surgical center located in Tulsa. In addition to his 12 years of clinical experience, Dr. Williams is a formidable lecturer on subjects such as ocular disease, glaucoma, diabetes, and laser vision correction.

Dr. Williams is residency trained and specializes in ocular disease and is certified in and routinely performs anterior segment laser procedures, Yag laser procedures, glaucoma-related laser treatments, and minor in-office surgical procedures. He was chosen to participate in the FDA investigational study of the ICL implantable Collamer Lens. As Director of the Oklahoma Optometric Association and member of the American Academy of Optometry, Dr. Williams is actively involved with the optometric community. He is passionate about caring for his patients and is dedicated to providing the best available vision care.

Originally from Edmonds, Washington, Dan received a scholarship to Washington State University from the local rotary club. At Washington State University he was active as a Theta Chi Fraternity executive committee officer, scholarship chairman, rush chairman, and finance chairman. He also was a member of the Washington State University varsity football team and a recruiting officer for Coug Guys and Gals. Dan graduated Cum Laude with a Major in Biology and a Minor in Chemistry.

He continued his education at Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, Iowa. Dan was an active member of his class playing an integral part in health promotion and disease prevention for secondary education and the Latin community. He was a contributing writer for the university’s newsletter and organized the Malpractice Bowl, a friendly competition between medical and law students and currently is a member of Tulsa Young Professionals and Rotary Club of Tulsa.

Dan has earned several awards in excellence of refractive surgery as well as cataract surgery from Triad Eye Laser Center and an award from OSU Department of Surgery. On a national level Dan has received a lifelong education award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a physician’s recognition award from the American Medical Association, and is AOCOO-HNS written board certified. Dan is currently facilitating in the education of the OSU Center for Health Services medical students and TRMC intern and residents as an Associate Professor of Surgery and Clinical Director of the Department of Ophthalmology.

Certified by VISX to perform the LASIK procedure as well as one of only a hand full of refractive surgeons in the Tulsa area certified to use the INTRALASE laser, Dr. Langley also is a skilled refractive and cataract surgeon. Dr. Langley also performs Oculoplastic procedures such as brow and lid lifts, lesions removal, BOTOX, and other more complex eye surgeries such as intraocular lens/contact lens placement, corneal transplant, and INTAX corneal implants.

At Eye Care Associates of South Tulsa Preventing and treating eye disease is still at the forefront.. Detection of eye diseases such as Diabetic retinopathy, hypertension retinopathy, glaucoma, macular degeneration, thyroid disorders, and HIV/AIDS, can help assist physicians of Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Nephrology can aid in the diagnosis and improved direction of treatment plans. With specialized tools and state of the art technology including fundus bimicroscopy, Humphries Visual Field Analyzer and soon an Optical Coherence Topographer the Eye Care Associates of South Tulsa stand ready to assist in improving the standard of care for diseases which have ophthalmic manifestations.
